Artist To Watch - Findlay

I feel like this chick is going to blow up. Findlay is 21 and from Stockport in Greater Manchester, England. Her first EP is being released next week via Joyeux Anniversaire Records. You can pre-order a signed copy using that link. She has recently supported Jake Bugg on his tour and is adding a few of her own headlining gigs already.

Off & On is her latest music video, you can also download the song free of charge via her website.

Lana Del Rey - Chelsea Hotel No 2

Lana covers Leonard Cohen's Chelsea Hotel No 2. I feel like she can't do anything I wont love.

Artist To Watch - Fine Times

Fine Times is a pretty cool Canadian band that I heard on my Indie Canada XM station.
You can fine their music on iTunes.

How this gem of a song has less than 1000 Youtube views is BEYOND me. I have been playing it all the time lately! I predict a lot of great things for them in the future.

New Music Tuesday 3-19-13

Yay! It's Tuesday and that means new music! Two of my favorite Rachaels put out new music today, Rachael Cantu released an album of covers, appropriately titled Covers, which is purchasable on iTunes. The album isn't on Spotify yet but she does have some other music there if you're not familiar with her work.

Also today marks the physical release of Rachael Yamagata's Heavyweight EP, which was released digitally in 2012. It can be purchased in her store. The album is also available on iTunes and can be heard on Spotify.

Alice Smith's second album She is out today. It's available on iTunes and you can listen to it on Spotify. Smith's had some songs featured on television shows so you might have heard of her. The new album is a powerful take on cabaret music. If you're local you can check her out at Tin Angel on April 7th.

Also out today is the Little Boots single Broken Record from the upcoming Nocturnes which is to be released in May. The single is available on iTunes and listenable on Spotify.

My summer obsession Lana Del Rey also has a sort of new single out today. Burning Desire was previously only available on the iTunes version of Paradise. It can be heard on Spotify now.

I didn't want to like her but I find myself still completely enamored by her.

And another Quadraphonic Sundry favorite Kathleen Edwards released her single Must Have Been Love, a cover of the 1987 Roxette hit. It's available on iTunes and can now be heard on Spotify. In January the song was used in the television show Private Practice.

The Palma Violets album 180 saw it's US release today and can be found on iTunes and Spotify. Their hit Best of Friends is still seeing a lot of airplay on indie/college radio.

Other notable releases today were Justin Timberlake's first official LP in something like 7 years, but don't worry there is another one coming in November... The Black Crowes, and Low.

In other news, John Legend recently sampled Ingrid Michaelson and Sarah Bareilles' Winter Song, the original is one of my favorites (and my first selection ever for my musical diary songs) I'm really liking what he's done with it.

The song will be appearing on his forthcoming album Love In The Future set for release later this Spring.

*I will try to get these up earlier on Tuesdays starting next week. If you have anything to add to the list please post in comments or Email Me :)

Artist To Watch - Kodaline

Kodaline is a Dublin-based alternative rock quartet. The band made chart history in March 2007, when their debut single "Give Me A Minute" topped the Irish Singles Chart; becoming the first independently-released track to achieve the feat. The quartet released their debut extended play The Kodaline in September 2012. One of four tracks featured on the EP, "All I Want", received significant acclaim, including an appearance on the television show Grey's Anatomy.

Their first full length album In A Perfect World is slated for a June 10, 2013 release. As far as I can tell this is the lead off single and the first music video for the album.

Houses - Beginnings

I'm digging this song Beginnings by Houses, from the upcoming album A Quiet Darkness due out April 16th on Downtown Records.

The Belle Game - Wait Up For You

The Belle Game has released a video for the lead off single from the their debut full-length album, Ritual Tradition Habit which has been announced for release on April 16, 2013. I think they have a nice pop sound and I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more. On a side note, I didn't hear them on my indie Canada XM station, but apparently they are also from Canada. I feel like that is all I've been listening to lately!
